Stay, or go.
Don't seek permission to leave the sport. If you wanna leave, leave. On the other hand, don't look for permission to stay.
"I can't leave until I do this" is one of the biggest caveats that I hear in the sport.
Bottom line: don't add parameters on your time in the sport. Make sure you're doing things for the right reasons.
