THIS ISN'T HEALTH FOOD.

Just stuff we do in our house to make eating more interesting. These meals don’t require 20 ingredients and they break up the monotony of eating the volume of food that most powerlifters need.

The ingredient list and directions are below!

INGREDIENTS

BLT - Quantity on all depends on how many sandwiches you need. Use your best judgement

Run of the mill bread - white, potato, wheat, whatever. We used Canadian White.

Nice bacon - doesn’t have to be thick cut but don’t use microwaveable for this sandwich. We used North Country Smokehouse Cob Smoked

Iceberg lettuce - skip the fancy greens. We’re looking for crunch here, not flavor. Romaine is also an acceptable substitute.

Tomatoes - on the vine is acceptable. Heirloom or homegrown would be ideal, but as long as it doesn’t look pale and soft, you’re good.

Salt

Dill Mayo - 1/4 cup fresh chopped dill, 1 cup mayo, 2 tbsp lemon, salt - view full recipe

DIRECTIONS

Cook

Cook bacon until desired crispness. We cook it in the oven. While that is cook, whip up your dill mayo. Combine all 4 ingredients (measure with your heart for the salt, I would say we used about a teaspoon) with a whisk and pop it in the fridge while the bacon cooks so it sets a little.

Toast

Toast your bread on a low level. In the video you can see a set was pretty golden brown. This is too toasty. Refer to the other two pieces for a color comparison. You want your toaster to be set at like a 2-3 out of 6. Just enough that it can hold the mayo without getting soggy but is still soft on the inside. Once toasted, let sit for a minute or so, you don’t want the heat of the bread to overpower the other ingredients.

Spread

Spread dill mayo on BOTH SIDES OF THE BREAD. Here at TWC Bites, we want to reiterate that these are not recipes for health. MAYO BOTH SIDES, LIBERALLY. Stack 4 pieces of bacon on one side. Sprinkle some salt on the bacon. You can see in the video I went ahead and stacked the rest of the ingredients on the other side and then tried to combine them. This was a mistake. Stack everything on top of the bacon to prevent slippage and spillage. Lettuce is next, then tomatoes. Add a little bit more salt on the tomatoes. Top with remaining slice of bread.

Enjoy with chips, fries, fruit, pickles, soup or other on the side. The world is your oyster.
