Give them a reason to help you.
Don't just ask how you get better at X. Don't be lazy and just ask for the answers. Instead, ask questions and show that you've put in the effort to learn.
There is nothing more annoying to me than when someone hits me up and asks me a question that can be answered by Google in 10 seconds.
You're not going to ask someone, "How do I cook?" It doesn't even make sense to ask that. But you may say "Hey, I always burn my grilled cheese. How do I not burn my grilled cheese?"
Put in the extra effort. Be worth the other person's time. And when they tell you the advice, LISTEN.
