6 Things You Have No Excuse to Skip

6 Things You Have No Excuse to Skip

Stop skipping the basics.

Everybody wants to get stronger, recover better and make more progress.

Before you start looking for something complicated, ask yourself if you're consistently doing the simple things.

1. Drink water

Start your day with water.

As soon as you wake up, drink two large glasses. Get ahead of your hydration instead of spending the rest of the day trying to catch up.

2. Track your protein

At the very least, know how much protein you're eating.

It doesn't have to be complicated. Track it and know where you're at.

Don't be lazy about something that's easy to measure.

3. Go to bed

Nothing interesting is happening at 2 a.m. Go to sleep.

Your recovery depends on it, and staying up late for no reason isn't helping you get better.

4. Keep your phone out of bed

Set your alarm and put the damn thing on the side table. Scrolling until you pass out isn't resting. Put the phone down and sleep.

5. Cut back on alcohol

Cut it out, or at least minimize it.

If you're serious about muscle building, fat loss, recovery and strength gains, alcohol isn't helping you accomplish those goals.

6. Do your mobility

You're already sitting there watching TV... you might as well work on your mobility. Use that time for some simple rehab/pre-hab work instead of doing nothing.

None of this is complicated. Drink water. Track your protein. Sleep. Put the phone down. Minimize alcohol. Do your mobility.

If you say you want to be really good at this, there's no reason not to handle these things.

Don't be a lazy person who talks about wanting more. Be disciplined enough to do the simple things that help you get more.
