Some technical. Some mental. All useful.
Powerlifters have a habit of overcomplicating everything. We convince ourselves the answer is a special bar, a secret program, or some variation nobody else is doing.
Sometimes that's true. Most of the time, it isn't.
- Three weeks before a meet, you don't need to overload a specialty squat variation. You need to squat. Take competition squats up to your planned third attempt. If more is there, take it.
- If your bench is stuck, stop randomly adding exercises and diagnose the problem. Is your technique good? Are you weak off the chest? Weak at lockout? Is mobility limiting you? The solution depends on the problem.
- Stop pretending muscle doesn't matter. Quads matter. Pecs matter. Biceps matter. Build them.
- You can't wish a total into existence. You don't get a number because you want it. You get it because you've earned it.
- The world doesn't stop because you're preparing for a meet. Life still happens. Work still happens. Family still happens. Learn to train anyway.
- Confidence comes from doing the thing. Not thinking about it. Not posting about it. Doing it.
You don't need more secrets. You need more reps doing the things that already work.
