Why Your Cambered Bar Box Squat Isn’t Carrying Over

Most people are using this bar completely wrong.

The Giant Cambered Bar Box Squat is one of the best tools you can use for building your squat and deadlift, but only if your positioning is right. Most people let the bar pull them forward, dump their chest, and turn the movement into a completely different lift.

That kills the carryover to free squatting and deadlifting.

Start with the setup. Your head needs to stay up and your chest needs to come through entirely. If your head is buried down toward the floor, you're going to get pulled out of position.

Your hand position matters too. Don’t shove your hands forward into some awkward position or push them forward. Pull INTO the bar. That tightens your upper back and lats so the weight stays stable and locked in.

Once you hit the box, stay upright. Don’t let the bar drift forward. Keep your knees out and imagine there’s a magazine pinned under each armpit the entire lift. This will keep everything super tight.

That’s what creates carryover to your free squat and deadlift.
