Why I Started Trigger Warning Conjugate - Part 2
When I was invited to train at Westside Barbell, I didn’t even think about it. I was living in New Hampshire and honestly was ready for a change anyway. The question was, how am I going to survive financially?
I approached the group about trying some online training so I could keep tabs on them from across the country. Everyone was excited about the idea, so I made a Facebook group and added them to it. I had no systems. I had no idea what or how I was going to do this—but I knew I had to make it work.
I set alarms on my phone to check the group page twice a day. I didn’t have a computer—just an outdated iPhone and a notebook with workouts that I would manually type into the group weekly. Lifters would post their videos, and I would coach them.
It was very stripped down compared to what goes on now, but a lot of the time, doing something is the best way to figure out what works. Those first few months helped shape the business (on the coaching side) into what I wanted and what I envisioned.
But how was I going to actually support myself with only a handful of lifters?
I had to find “normal,” or I was going to drown.
TWC had been started…
But what was going to come next?
