Why I Started Trigger Warning Conjugate - Part 3

At this point, I was training full time at Westside, applying for jobs (unsuccessfully). When I got back to the house I was couch surfing at one day, the guy working construction on the bathroom asked me if I wanted work. He was flexible with my hours around training and, of course, cash was king.

I started doing hard manual labor 5 days a week. Soon after that, Jason Coker (Westside and powerlifting legend) jumped in and started working with us. Jason and I eventually broke off and started taking on general construction work by ourselves. It was hard labor. The first time I squatted 1,000 pounds in a meet, I was working 50+ hours a week of HARD labor. I was up on ladders, coaching videos on my phone in between driving nails into drywall.

I was spread too thin. TWC had grown a decent amount, we had started doing some light apparel sales, and I made the jump. I left the construction world and decided to drive Uber part time so I could focus on growing TWC.

I would drive maybe 3–4 hours a day (yes, in my Prius), and then spend the rest of the day doing everything I could to try and stumble my way through building a brand. On a Saturday I was supposed to be driving, there was a meet across the city. I said “fuck it” and went to go hang at the meet.

On the drive over, I got the notification that I had sold 4 shirts. A quick 100 bucks. What I would have made if I had driven for a few hours. I canceled my Uber account that moment and went all the way in to making this brand my number one source of income… that play worked, and here we are a decade later.

You have to jump. You have to make the choice to change your situation.
Done is better than perfect.

And lastly, compliment sandwiches only leave you confused about what you just ate.
