If you reach the end of a training cycle and you’re not thinking, “Fuck, I need a deload,” then you didn’t push hard enough.
That feeling isn’t weakness, it’s proof you did the work.
Now here’s the other side of it... If you hit Wednesday or Thursday of deload week and you’re not chewing your tongue because you want to get back under the bar, then you might not love this as much as you say you do.
Hard training creates two things at the same time: fatigue and hunger.
